Gurugram: Man arrested for attempting to extort Rs 1cr from bizman | All Tech Sir

A 32-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attempting to extort Rs 1 crore from a Gurugram-based businessman by threatening to kill him and his household, police stated.

The police obtained a criticism from the businessman on January 11 saying that that they had obtained an extortion letter from an unknown individual.

She stated the person threatened to kill her if she didn’t pay the ransom, police stated.

An FIR was registered on the Sector-14 police station in Gurugram and the police swung into motion to hint the accused.

The arrested accused has been recognized as Sandeep Tyagi aka Jitender.

On Sunday, the police obtained a tip-off in regards to the accused. They laid a lure and arrested him from Iffco Chowk on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, the official stated.

Upon questioning, it was ascertained that the accused was a former worker of the complainant and knew the background of the sufferer and her household.

“The accused might be taken to police remand for additional investigation,” stated Preet Pal Sangwan, ACP (crime).
